Tips for taking Care of Your Four Stroke Scooter

*Before Starting the first time.

*Always charge your battery before installing

Always go over entire scooter before ridding checking for loose bolts and nuts paying attention to muffler bolts and nuts plus axel nuts both front and rear, this is amust for saftey.
A charger is a must have if you own a scooter do not depend on the battery to stay charged over long stretches between starts. Use a 12volt 2amp or less charger, do not use a charger with more 2amps or jump start scooter with any other battery or vehicle, this will burn up electrical system. A trickle charger is fine but will take longer and is good to use when not ridding the scooter to keep charged, a larger amp charger takes less time to charge battery. You can find the perfect charger at Wal-Mart or Scootertronics. http://store.scootertronics.com/bachsc.html When installing battery there are two positive wires and one neg for 50cc scoooters and one of each for 150cc scooters. On 50cc one red wire might have black plastic wrap simply push back to find red wire.

 

*Always start your scooter on the center stand

This will allow the rear wheel to spin without scooter moving.

You will be able to give scooter gas this way to prevent stalling and adjust idle when scooter is brand new. Idle screw is found under seat under trap door on right side of carb. *Turn idle screw clockwise one and half turns when starting scooter for the very first time and leave this way until you feel scooter is performing well and starting with ease. You will have to apply brake to engage starter motor.

 

*Fill with gas and check oil in engine

Fill your scooter for the first time with high test gas to full. Only fill this much to allow air intake to help start vacuum flow and gravity flow of gas to carb. Gas is only pumped to carb when engine is turning over either by electric start or kick start. Your scooter is has a petcock valve that keeps gas flowing into carb only with engine is running or turning over. *You may use starting fluid when starting the first and we suggest this to allow scooter to start easily and not over wear starter or battery. Open air cleaner box and spray into and wait several seconds for fluid to travel to spark plug. Do not spray anywhere else. Also at this time make sure gas line is hooked up to carb. Some companies unplug for shipping. If scooter starts up and does not stay running or stalls when given gas and you have turned idle up look for kinked air and gas lines. There are several vacuum lines that are hooked up at one end and not the other. You may also need to clear petcock valve and gas line by unhooking from carb and blowing into till you hear bubbles in gas tank. If turning over and not starting this could be the problem also make sure spark plug is hooked up to coil. Remember basically the scooter needs air, gas and spark to run, there also needs to be good air flow in and out. When using electric start do not hold start button down for more 5 second intervals. Also use kick start by pressing down until you find the start position of most resistance. Using more force than needed will break kick start very easily be careful. Also at this time and before ridding go over entire scooter to make sure nothing has shaken loose during shipping and all wheels and brakes work good and the scooter is safe to ride. Simply check engine oil by looking at dip stick on muffler side. Your scooter comes with engine oil and trans oil that must be changed when speedo-meter reads 500. The engine takes .8 of a liter of 10W40 engine oil and trans takes 100ml of 90w gear oil engine oil. Changing your fluids in your four stroke is easily done with a little care.

 

Gather up your supplies of two liters of 10W40 motor oil, best to use four stroke oil made for motorcycles and scooters. This oil is made for air cooled motors and will keep your scooter engine in top shape. You may find Bel Ray at scootertronics.com along with a complete kit to tune up and change oil.

 

Place scooter on center stand. Locate bolt for on right side by muffler on bottom of motor directly inline with oil fill check dipstick, loosen, catch filter and clean and let oil drain and dispose of correctly. Replace filter (if there is one) refill with oil just under a liter check with dipstick until full, check after first two minutes of run time again after its cooled to make sure you have enough in reserve.

 

Trans gear oil should be replaced at same time. Gear oil for 50cc and 150cc. On transmission bottom there is one bolt that is for drain. Loosen drain and dispose of, there is no filter but there is a metal strainer. Replace with 100ml only of 75w or 90w gear oil, measure in cup first then pull into syringe squirt into filler hole on side of trans.

Scootertronics ships all scooters by Freight Truck or FedeX to your residence. Shipping is free for all scooters. We also can offer delivery of a running scooter to your home for local residents. Call first for this info. All scooters take 5-7 business days to arrive. If you need your scooter sooner please let us know. Tank Scooters take 7-10 business days to arrive.

Warranty
Scootertronics offers a 90-day parts only warranty on all Geely, Verucci (180 days-6mos), Primo and Meitian (180 days-6mos) Strada 6mos Vento 6mos and 30 day parts warranty on all Xtreme scooters which is handled directly through Xtreme. Our 150cc scooters come with 180 day parts only warranty. We do not offer a labor warranty except a limited labor warranty on local sales plus a limited labor watrranty for delivered scooter you may purchase and it depends on what scooter you order. Scootertronics warranty covers factory defects and defaults only. We do not cover misuse or broken parts caused by the user or by shipping or any other event. Scootertronics may require parts to be shipped back to Scootertronics before replacing those parts. Return shipping costs to Scootertronics must be paid for by the end user/customer. LICENSING & REGISTRATION
Laws vary from state to state so please know your state laws. Scootertronics provides MCO and each scooter has Vin plate stating it meets Federal standards. If required in your city or state, purchaser is responsible to operate and register motor vehicle in accordance with state and local laws and ordinances. Every scooter comes with a MCO that can be used as a title to get tags if needed. We also provide a Bill of Sale. We do know most state laws and will help in whatever way needed, just let us know and we will work it out. We have never had a problem with our scooters in any state.

IMPORTANT: You must have a professional mechanic (any small engine repair shop, motorcycle shop, or local auto repair shop) assemble your new motor scooter and do the prep work to assure your motorscooter is in good working condition and safe to ride. Fialure to do this could result in injury and by ordering from scootertronics you assume all responsibilty for the saftey of your scooter and rider. You must also have a professional mechanic work on your motorscooter to file a claim on the warranty.

Returns/Cancellations
IMPORTANT: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Scooters can only be returned in original crate and must not have been ridden or uncrated. All shipping costs must be paid by customer. Parts can not be returned once used. Helmets can not be reurned, size is very important please get it right. We will work with any problem that occurs and do what ecver we can to resolve any problem fairly to everyone involved.

Please inspect your crate while driver is there and note any damage on delivery invoice. Refusing shipment because of scratches that do not effect usability of scooter does not warrant refusal. You will be responsible for shipping charges plus credit card processing fees. Body panels can be replace at the cost of shipping company. In the unlikely event this happens please contact us right away. We will work with you to get any problems corrected. The shipping company is at fault when there is damage not scootertronics. We wiil work with all customers to handle all claims by replacing damaged parts first and then making a claim with shipper. However the shippers will pay a claim by a customer in a matter of weeks and is the fastest way to solve any damage from shipping. This is a win win for the customer.

You may return your scooter if it has not been uncrated or used in anyway. The customer will have to pay all shipping charges plus credit card processing fees (2.5%) and 30% restocking fee. It is much easier and cost effective to simply fix or replaced damaged or deffective parts which has always been the case plus we have never had a return or unsatisfied customer and plan to never have one.

You may cancel your order in the first 24hrs only. After that customer is responsible for all shipping charges and processing fees.
